Back in Blogging . . . Away from Home

Staring at my long-forgotten blog, I try hard to fathom how I managed not to write a single post for such a long time. After eight months, I can no longer bear with being away from the blogosphere—keeping my thoughts to myself—and managing casual revelation sometimes. But this time, I’m writing in the other side of the globe away from the familiar place where I grew up and the people whom I cherished the most.

Living in an entirely different environment, I have to make a decision: will I blog about my homeland here or create a new blog about the place I’m trying so hard to adapt with—much effort is consumed by the chilly weather. (I never thought that acclimatization as a long process.)

I’ve got so much to write but first I really have to impose and plan my schedule so as to have time to immerse myself whenever I can in blogging and catching up with my favorite blogs; one of which is Raven’s blog.

Thanks to her, I found out that Textbroker is accepting writers aside from those residing in US. As much as I want to grab such opportunity, it isn’t possible as of now with the exception of blogging, of course. Then I thought about my sister. I earnestly urged her to give it a try. I still yet have to hear from her whether she try or think of alibis not to.

Another discovery that I’m thrilled to share: Pesos and Sense, a show every Filipino wanting to invest in stock or lacking entirely of knowledge should definitely watch. I’m done watching all the episodes found in YouTube that now I’m eager to know more.

Now, I’m done with the warm up post. I definitely have to work hard so as to keep up with the blogosphere.

First Blogsvertise Payment Proof

At last, I can say that I’ve successfully monetized my blog—a bit—as I received my first payment from Blogsvertise. I’m so happy! By far, it is the highest earning from a single blog post.

But what made me more ecstatic is that the payment is just in time for the SM San Lazaro 3-day sale (April15-17, 2011). I can splurge it on jeans. It’s been a long time since I scour heap of bargains searching for the right fit.

I occasionally visit the website of Review Stream to check if the regular rate (payment) for a review increases. It did change, from $2.50 to $1.50; a disappointing one dollar decrease is a great deal for those who love writing reviews.

It’s a hard habit to break. I’m turning into a midnight owl. Early this morning (yet it is still dark and the sun hasn’t risen) I had a surprise, a good news to start the day. (But I haven’t ended it with a good night sleep.) Confusing? Allow me to give enlightenment.

Hubpages and Amazon Associates Program: Commission (Earnings) in First Items Sold

I tried hard to stop myself in jumping, shouting. I wanted to express my excitement without holding back, but I can’t—it was past 12 in the morning. My happiness will cause annoyance—a great one—to my roommate, siblings, parents, and pets once I make a sound, a suppress squeal, slip my mouth.

Two months of writing in Hubpages, I finally reaped all the hard work as a hubber and an Amazon associate—two ordered items were bought through the first hub I’ve written (which at first I doubt, but decide to go with anyway). Maybe my eyes were just playing tricks on me, an illusion after several hours of staring at the LED computer monitor. Staying up late often is probably taking its toll on my vision and my mind—was I dreaming while awake?

Bukisa First—and Last—Proof of Payment?

On my post Chitika and Bukisa, I’ve mentioned of receiving payment from the latter in the first week of Cupid’s month. And on February 3, I received an e-mail from Bukisa sending my earnings of $ 1.53 on my Paypal account. It’s not much, but it’s a proof that Bukisa does pay.

With the integration of affiliate earnings, I’m guessing this proof of payment would be the last. But perhaps—not.

First Tax Liens HQ Proof of Payment

Not from me. I’m only here to show that Tax Liens HQ does pay their members, and one of them is my sister who is a data miner for roughly two months. Her hard work paid off as she received her first payment sent to her Paypal account less than a day after requesting.

Right now she’s still busy on her niche blogs and tax liens; as a result, she somehow lost interest in updating her personal blog, so I’m taking the responsibility to reveal such prospect and its proof.

Chitika and Bukisa

Bukisa has now fully implemented the big change: member can only earn through Google Adsense or Chitika. I chose the latter. Other than Nuffnang, Chitika made it easy for me to sign up—and the following day—my application was apprved. Fortunately, I now have Chitika ads running alongside my Bukisa articles; otherwise, I have no choice but to abandon Bukisa. In the first week of February the earnings based on the Bukisa index of 3.22 will be sent to its member’s Paypal account.

Tax Liens HQ Provides Data Entry Job

To end blogging for 2010, I decided it is best done by sharing an opportunity to earn online through data entry job in Tax Liens HQ. In a month, I’ve watched my sister worked on this site. I wanted to join but we only have one computer; so being the eldest, I let her earn then I’ll bug her later on to treat me to a movie or restaurant. (She just did at San Miguel By The Bay.) I know there are lots of people who prefers to do data entry as a way to earn online than writing for revenue sharing sites. I, too, belong to that crowd but for now I’m content in informing this chance to others.

Bukisa's Big Change: Good or Bad News?

From pay per view, Bukisa changes to Google Adsense as a form of paying their members. This unexpected news was sent in my inbox on December 12, 2010 and will take effect after January 13, 2011. Within this period, members can still earn based on the number of views with the index of 3.22, if I’m not mistaken. The earnings if not lower than $0.50 will be sent in the Paypal account of the members.

Hubber in the Making

I made the last venture, so far, in online writing four days ago. After battling many obstacles and alibis, I finally published my first hub on Hubpages. Now I’m a newbie hubber.

The truth is, becoming a hubber is the result of ever-enduring procrastination. I’ve wanted to join long before I became a member of Bukisa and started blogging about my dogs. (I suppose that was a year ago.) But hesitation and other lame excuses get in the way.

A Great Loss, a Little Gain, and a Combination of Both

If I willy-nilly have to do an errand, I want to finish it in a day, that is, if circumstances and time permit. The unavailability of Internet connection and the unavoidable errand of stock relevant matter have kept me from blogging for three days (an inconvenient time because I have lots of post to publish). All right no more complains, back to my story about stock, the financial shares in a company (I felt like I’m financial analyst or a stock broker.)

I’m helping my dad about his loss stock certificate. I don’t own it, but maybe someday. Within three days I’ve learned an important lesson for stockholders or who wants to be one: do not lose your stock certificate. A replacement will be issued after completing the requirements. What are those? Details are allotted to the succeeding post in October perhaps.

Once I get my hands to my computer I started typing. I’ve updated my earlier post about Toneaday. Before joining, do not forget to read it first and if you’re already a member, you might want to share your experience—whether about success or disappointment. I’m saving the good news for last—I bought a domain for Blackeyed Chuchie. My sister helped me to set it up. Last week is a mixture of delight, disappointment, and weariness. I wonder what is in store for me this week. Be optimistic. Actually, I receive a blessing this morning. Thank God! Isn’t a good start?

The Elusive Writing Gig on Mylot Task

In my previous posts I’ve mentioned ways to earn by online writing: Reviewstream pays for your reviews once approved and Bukisa is based on revenue sharing of ads found on articles, presentation, how-to’s, and videos.

If you have submitted to those websites or similar ones, you might want to take a risk writing for someone else. Mylot is a forum on which varied topics are discussed; it launched last year the “task” section. Members can post task for others to complete within a period.

ToneADay: Rating and Waiting, What’s Next?

Last night I logged in to my ToneADay account and was surprised that I can rate words again and not be greeted by a message saying , I’m under the qualification process and the admin will e-mail me as soon as my rated words have been evaluated, then I can keep rating again. I’m positive of passing the qualification; thus, I log in occasionally. No e-mail came but my positivity worked.

So What is ToneADay?

It is the first of its kind (I presumed); it is similar to GPT (get paid to) websites only that with your participation an organization gain as well. The process is simple—anyone can do it. You will rate the word based on your feelings, for example, you can rate “beauty” by moving the slide of different emotions like friendliness and anger then click submit. The worth of every word is $0.02 in the qualifying stage. I don’t know yet if the value will increase as you move to the next stage.

A Year of Online Writing, How Far Did I Go?

How can I forget! It’s been a year already since I entered the exciting, frustrating and gratifying world of online writing.

Here’s a chronology of my so far one year journey:

• Though I’ve submitted two article in 2007, it was only in April 2009 I took online writing seriously and started earning— the part that encourage me to do more, yet a possibility I doubt at first.

• Back then when there’s not much work available, I joined Reviewstream in September, at which I’ve submitted as of now more than a hundred reviews, about anything I have knowledge of or use such as books, movies, websites and gadgets.

• The Word Exposed: Drawing Us Closer to God is my first post on Clumsy Fancy, my first ever blog (I’m planning to have more). I launched my blog in October 2009 after I’ve reached payout on Reviewstream, only a month after becoming a member and though $ 50 is the payout.

• I’ve also tried article marketplace, at which one can sell articles at the author’s price. In some websites the standard is too strict while others allow only few days before your article is accepted and ready for sale, as long as its unique content.

• Two months ago I’ve become a member of Bukisa.

I’ll spare you some of the details, but I wouldn’t say that I never had any rejection—the heartbreaker of every online writer, but also a great teacher if you’ll learn from the harsh or light criticism and advice. Look at the bright side: you can write better article next time around.
                          
I consider my one-year journey as a passage to the threshold of online writing, though I don’t know where does my creations can take me to; but as far as I’m concern, I’m getting the hang of it—including the good and the bad part.

Bukisa Disabled Account—Don’t Panic Yet

For emergency, we have studied one or more drills to prepare ourselves, and much, to avoid panicking whenever, at the time we never know, the dreaded mishap occurs. These are the cases anybody can experience, but for someone involved in writing online the inability to log in, particularly, having a Bukisa disabled account is a mayhem that might cause one to panic. Is there a drill for that? I doubt, however, my experience tells how you can survive such situation or similar incident.

Write and Earn at ReviewStream Without Hassle (Part 2)

The following pointers are of great help if you have decided to join ReviewStream. And for those who haven’t read the first part and if you love to write, I’m certain you’ll be glad to know that you can earn through your crafted word at the same time.

Tips in Submitting Reviews and Earning Fast

1. Do not be discouraged if your first couple of reviews took so long to be accepted, since mine took a week; beyond that, things went smoothly.
2. To earn fast, consider writing about in-demand topics: cosmetics, electronics, medicine, and more. For the updated, complete list, you may want to go to the homepage of ReviewStream. Nonetheless, I still received regular rate with subjects about hardware, restaurant, and health. I’ve discovered these things after few trials. To ensure the regular rate, create a 500-word review, or more, based on these topics.
3. For a change, you may also want to write reviews other than in-demand topics, but you must be willing to receive the bulk rate. Your piece of more than 200 words could be made in a few minutes, for a quick half a dollar.
4. Be aware though, the number of words isn’t what gives value to your piece. Remember, reviews are subject for approval. Do not just mixed words aimlessly; make every word relevant to the topic, and make every review receives any of the rates, which is better than nothing, zilch, nada, or whatever you want to call it.
5. To easily reach the payout, I advice a mixture of in-demand and not so popular categories, with the former greater in quantity, but save some to maintain the momentum of the fast bucks.

Bukisa Venture

I finally did it. I signed up two weeks ago to Bukisa, a revenue sharing site, afterward I’ve been busy dressing up my profile and submitting articles. Prior to plunging to another site, I researched and pondered for quite some time. The success of Bukisa-committed people influenced my decision making; whereas, others failure and annoyance have caused no disturbance. But the decrease of index caught my attention. It was brought about by ptc issues that I didn’t bother to delve even more.
